Live Edge Walnut Chairs

The harmony of maple and walnut, the juxtaposition of organic and angular shapes, the depth of color and curl in the grain. I’m really pleased with the way this chair turned out, and I’m thankful to have clients that appreciate the art found in wild and misshapen things. These three chairs were made from a downed walnut on a client’s property, one for each of his children. This project felt like the embodiment of book I loved as a child and still do in middle age: Shel Silverstein’s, The Giving Tree.
