The Tonky Honker
Made of maple and teak, the Tonky Honker began as a reimagining of the first solid body electric guitar, Les Paul’s creation “The Log.”
What if, I wondered, we slipped the side pieces out of alignment to create an asymmetric take on the original? The resulting guitar was—in the words of an engineering friend of mine—“Cattywampus and unsettling.”
